Does government do enough for SMEs?

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is hosting an evening in Clifton, Bristol on 9 March.

The event is aimed at SME's and looks at some research the CIM has conducted into the government’s support for smaller businesses and how fit for purpose this is.

Mark Stuart - Head of Research at the CIM, will look at the latest Agenda Paper 'Access all areas?' which asks what kind of help does government really offer SME's.

Mark will be joined by Steve Lobley, Business Link South West's Core Services Manager who has a role in managing their contract with the South West Regional Development Agency and will put the business support agency's case.

John Taylerson of Wiltshire based Malmesbury Syrups, a successful specialist foods manufacturer making flavoured syrups for speciality delicatessens, high street retailers and coffee shops, will represent the small business sector.

The evening will be rounded off by what promises to be a lively Q&A session.
